Hey, y'all

I hope you all are resting and finding/maintaining your peace this Christmas Eve!

As for me, I've been really battling with getting into the holiday spirit, like for whatever reason, this holiday season just isn't giving JOYFUL, JOYFUL; it's giving more like sorrow, sorrow, sick in the house. And I know I am not alone because I've seen the laments on socials, so get your cup of tea, water, or smoothie, and let's dive in!

In what seems to be the 4th wave of the pandemic, there's Christmas. It's the time of year where most people are preparing to celebrate the arrival of Jesus, looking forward to spending time with family and friends and shopping for the best deal they can find to gift those they love. But the truth is, we are struggling! Struggling to stay healthy, struggling to stay connected to others, and struggling to make decisions that affect people's day-to-day lives. THE WHOLE WORLD, in some fashion, is struggling.

While a new normal appeared with the creation of vaccines, we cannot neglect that the almost 2-year pandemic has happened. And with that, people's spirits are not where the calendar year is because of what was taken or occurred in THEIR lives, and IT'S OK to acknowledge that.

You're not in the Christmas spirit because Christmas just ain't what it used to be, but God is. COVID has taken a lot, and I get that, so if it was one encouraging thing I could say to you as well as myself - it is to remember that the JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH! Honor that this Christmas! Whether alone or with company, honor your strength, celebrate the accomplishments you've achieved this year despite COVID, and rejoice in a way that re-energizing your spirit!

Be Well, Love well
